About Tammy Schroder
My work explores the layered contrasts of nature, abstraction, and time. Through painting and mixed media, I create visual narratives that place the organic and imperfect in tension with the geometric and modern. Iām drawn to opposites the softness of a leaf against a digital form, the nostalgia of vintage design beside bold, contemporary mark-making. Through this interplay, I aim to evoke emotion while quietly inviting viewers to reflect on their place in a fast-moving world.
For over two decades, I have worked as a professional artist, with paintings and commissioned works collected by individuals, companies, and public institutions nationwide. My portfolio spans gallery exhibitions, product design, large-scale murals, and private commissions, including projects for hospitals, schools, museums, nonprofits, and international figures. My work has been published internationally and is represented across apparel, interior environments, therapeutic programs and environments intended to inspire connection.
Rooted in the Pacific Northwest, my practice is shaped by the rawness of nature and the complexity of human experience. I often incorporate found or vintage materials, blending past and present to open subtle dialogues about time, culture, and emotional memory. Beyond the studio, my work extends into public and commercial spaces, collaborative projects, and community centered initiatives, reflecting my belief that art can nurture well-being, inspire environmental awareness, and contribute meaningfully to shared human experience. Whether in an intimate canvas or a large-scale public installation, I strive to create work that resonates not just visually, but personally.
My goal is to create art that invites curiosity, stirs feeling, and honors both beauty and complexity.
